How to look after your recycled hardwood

At In the Thick of It, we believe in creating furniture that not only enhances your space but also helps the planet. By using recycled hardwood, we contribute to reducing waste while providing you with high-quality, beautifully crafted pieces.

To ensure that your piece remains as beautiful as you bought it for years to come, it’s important to care for it properly. Here are some simple care instructions to help maintain the beauty of your furniture.

Moisture Control: Avoid letting liquids sit on the timber, clean up spills immediately with a damp cloth and dry the surface to prevent water damage.

Protection: Use protection (e.g., coasters or placemats) under hot items, plants, or vases to prevent damage from moisture and heat.

Avoid Chemicals: Don’t use chemical sprays, soaps, or abrasives as they may strip the oil finish and damage the timber.

First Four Weeks: The oil finish is still curing during the first month, so take extra care to avoid scratches or marks during this time.

Cleaning: For general cleaning, use OSMO’s Wash and Care, and for tougher stains, OSMO’s Liquid Wax Cleaner is ideal. However, avoid using these products during the first four weeks.
