we make

Our timber furniture products are created out of recycled Messmate. Each piece is made by hand in Melbourne, and built to last.

Our recycled Messmate vanities come in multiple sizes and use premium Grass under mount drawer runners.

We can do custom furniture and vanities upon request. This includes dining tables, wall units, shelves, bathroom cabinets etc.

We can design and build all cabinetry for laundries, kitchens, mudrooms, wardrobes etc.
A little
about us
In The Thick of It was founded by Brendan a registered builder and sixth generation carpenter from Melbourne.
After many years constructing buildings of all sizes, Brendan decided to refine his skills and make the shift into furniture and joinery. This has allowed him to spend more time with the two things he loves - timber, and his two daughters.
